Judson | Newborn
I received an email at the beginning of the year, from Lindsay, stating that she and her husband Justin were expecting their first child at the end of March. That is when we started to plan their maternity and newborn sessions. I wanted to make sure to incorporate personalized items in each session. We had the maternity session schedule out and we were ready to go, but … Mother Nature had another plan. Just like most of the country, we had a very cold and uncomfortable winter here in Missouri. Doing a maternity session when it is 12 degrees outside wasn’t exactly the ideal setting. As we continued to reschedule a few of the dates that we had originally chose, I received a message from Lindsay that said “Well, I wanted to schedule our maternity session for this weekend…however, I may have my son by this weekend”. She called it. It was just a few days after her and I talked, baby Judson was born! This little guy was two and a half weeks early. I think he was really excited to meet his amazing parents so he was ready to come a little early! Ha
Baby Judson was PERFECT and I mean PERFECT during his session. We moved him around their house, both inside and out, placed him on blankets, in baskets, and even a baseball glove and he slept THE ENTIRE TIME. What a doll! He is so sweet and so tiny. One item that Lindsay and Justin wanted to incorporate in Judson’s newborn session was the outfit that Justin wore when he came home from the hospital. I loved that idea as soon as they said it. It’s those personal touches that make a newborn session even more special. I was able to get a few shots of Justin and Judson together while he was wearing that outfit. It was such a special moment and I’m so honored to have been a part of it. We also were able to incorporate some of Lindsay’s grandfather’s things. His cowboy hat, boots, and an antique milk crate. It all came together perfectly and made for some beautiful images. I’m so excited to say that we will be seeing a lot more of Judson over the next year and we will be able to watch him grow.
