The Nguyen Family

It was a beautiful fall evening spent with a beautiful family! I always have the best time when I work with The Nguyen Family. Miss Kay and Miss Chole are absolutely adorable and kept us laughing the whole time. Their smiles, the little looks they give each other, their laughs .... each and every image shows so much of their precious personalities. I enjoyed putting this blog post together and re-living all of the sweet moments from their session. They are an incredible family indeed.

The Beasley Family

This was the first time that I've worked with The Beasley Family; however, within a few minutes, it felt like I had known them for years. What a beautiful, fun, and outgoing family! I was immediately greeted with the biggest smiles from all of them. You could feel the love they share for each other, which made for some very sweet images.

I enjoyed putting this blog post together because I love all of the images from their Fall Family Session. The images of Jami and Blake are adorable because the way they look and smile at each other is so genuine and kind. You can tell that Bowen and Kason aren't just brothers, they are buddies too. When it came time to photograph the four of them together, the laughs were non-stop. I loved it! They are such a remarkable family and it was truly an honor to work with them.

Hopefully, this won't be the last time we see The Beasley Family here on the Steph Layne Photography blog. Until then, I'm excited to share some of my favorite images of this special family. Enjoy and I hope everyone has a lovely day!

Caroline | One Year

I’ve had the wonderful privilege of working with The Smithson family for several years now. Lillian and Caroline are growing up so fast. Lillian is such a wonderful big sister and you can tell how much she loves Caroline. They truly are such a beautiful family inside and out.  

Like all of the sessions we’ve done before, they nailed it. I always have a lot of fun when we are together. The girls definitely keep us laughing and Miss Caroline’s grin is too cute for words and totally contagious. As soon as you see her sweet smile in these images, you will know exactly what I mean.

Emmett | Two Years

I absolutely love working with The Tyler Family. They continue to knock it out of the park every time we work together. I still can't believe this was Mr. Emmett's Two Year Session. It feels like just a few weeks ago that I was photographing him as a teeny-tiny newborn. They all are just as sweet as ever! Between the outfits and fun props that Michelle always brings to their sessions, I couldn't help but have a huge smile on my face the entire time I was putting this blog post together. Their little grins and giggles are definitely contagious!

The Sunderman Family

Happy! That is just one adjective that I would use to describe the adorable Sunderman Family. I love photographing Austin and Brandi as they interact with Reagan and Truman. These four are always laughing throughout our entire time together. Not only do Austin and Brandi tease the kids, but each other as well. It’s heartwarming to see the love that this family shares. They are such a joy to be around, which is why I’m always counting down the days until my next family session with them.

Jenna, Jude & Leighton

The award for the “Craziest Weather During A Photo Session” goes to … Jenna, Jude and Leighton. I have been doing photography for over nine years, and I’ve never seen the weather change so many times during a session. It started out as a beautiful summer day with lots of sunshine and puffy white clouds. As the afternoon progressed, the storms started to roll in. It wasn’t raining where we were planning on doing their session, so we decided to proceed just as we had planned. I remember driving into Springfield that evening and it was insanely dark behind me. It almost looked like it was nighttime. However, ahead of us, the sky looked brighter and no rain in sight. As I met Jenna and the kids, we were talking about how crazy the weather was to the south of us. According to the radar, there would be no rain in our area for a few more hours. As I started to snap the first image, the temperature dropped, the cloud coverage became crazy and wind really began to blow. WHAT?! Jenna and I looked at each other and said, ‘We better move fast!” Ha

I’ve had the wonderful privilege of working with these three for years. They are definitely pros and very easy to work with. We quickly moved around the park as I was captured their sweet grins and giggles. Every few minutes the cloud coverage would drastically change. It would become increasingly darker and then instantly it would lighten up and a little bit of sun would peek out. All we could do was laugh at how crazy and unpredictable the weather was. Just as I was about to give them direction on what to do next, I felt a drop of rain. I looked at their faces and could tell they felt the rain too. Immediately it began to rain … not sprinkle … it POURED. We ran to the biggest tree we could find! What. A. Session.

After a while, the rain began to stop and I asked Jenna if would be up for letting the kids play in the fountains at the park since they were already a wee bit wet. Ha! She was definitely on board with this idea, and I’m so glad that she was because the images of Jude and Leighton playing in the fountains are absolutely adorable. It doesn’t get any more of a “Summer Session” vibe than those images. They are my favorite!

I love each and every session that I get to do with these three and thanks to Mother Nature this is one that we will never forget. I’m so excited to share a few of my favorite images from their Summer Family Session with everyone today. I know that you will enjoy them as much as I do. I hope everyone has a woderful day!

Caylee & Cash

If you have been following my blog for a while you most likely recognize my niece and nephew, Caylee and Cash. I still can't get over how much these two have grown up since our last session together. They love the fact that they are both taller than me and how much older they look. The rest of our family ... not so much. Ha!

As always, these two knocked it out of the park the evening of their session. I would definitely consider these two "pros" at being photographed. They both are at the age where they are super fun to tease, which at a photo session produces the most candid images and the best smiles. I love these kids so much and it's been such an honor to photograph them over the last nine years. Knowing that I'm capturing images that our family will be able to cherish for years to come ... that is such a wonderful feeling.

Austin & Hailey

I’ve had the wonderful privilege of working with these two cuties for years. Hailey was a newborn when we met and I can’t tell you enough how much I look forward to each session that I get to work with them. We only see each other once a year, so they always start off a little on the shy side. However, in no time their sweet personalities are shining through.

I loved walking around the park and talking to them about school, sports, and how their summer is going. They get so animated when discussing the things they enjoy the most. They are absolutely precious and I cherish the opportunity to photograph them year after year.
