Truman | Six Months

I can’t believe that Mr. Truman’s six month mark has already came and gone. It always amazes me how fast the milestones of a little ones first year goes, so I can only imagine how Mom and Dad must feel. The last time we saw Truman here on the Steph Layne Photography blog, he was only a week and half old. He has grown so much and is absolutely precious. His little personality shines through so much in these images; and I can promise you that they will instantly put a smile on your face. Every time (and I mean every single time) I would smile or talk to Truman, he would grin or giggle the biggest giggle. It became a domino effect because we would all start laughing, then he would laugh more, and so on. It was absolutely adorable! I couldn’t get enough of his sweet laugh!

Not only will Truman melt your heart, but also his big sister Ragan is the exact same way. She is definitely a fan favorite here at Steph Layne Photography! She is so sweet and shy, which makes for the most perfect images. That little sly smile is so contagious. I love these two so much!

I love each and every image in this blog post. There are so many adorable images of Truman, Ragan, and their incredible Mom and Dad. The Sunderman Family can easily be described as “Picture Perfect”. They are so easy to work with and I enjoy working with them year after year! Thankfully, we are getting closer and closer to Truman’s One Year Session and I couldn’t be more excited.

Until then, here are just a few of my favorite images from Truman’s Six Month Session. I know that you will enjoy them as much as I have. Until next time friends! Happy Monday!

The 10th Annual Wing Off | Our Super Bowl Sunday Tradition

Super Bowl Sunday is a day that we look forward to months in advance. This year was even more special for two reasons. First, it was our 10th Annual Wing Off and Secondly, Justin Timberlake was performing at the halftime show. For those who know me well, know that Justin Timberlake ranks pretty high on my favorite artist list. Being a fan of Mr. Timberlake, I’ve been anxiously awaiting his performance since he announced that he was going to be at the big game. Being that Wing Off is all about the delicious wing recipes and the Super Bowl, I reigned in my excitement and didn’t make the entire party about Justin Timberlake like I wanted to. Ha

Super Bowl Sunday arrived and it became very clear that I wasn’t the only one who was more excited about JT's performance than the actual game. I can’t tell you how many messages that I received stating, “Did you hear there is a football game in the middle of the Justin Timberlake concert. Weird”.  With every message I received, my excitement grew and grew.

As everyone started to arrive with their tasty wings and unique presentations, it was obvious that I didn’t need to worry about making the party about the halftime show performer, because everyone else was doing it too! Yay! That was the buzz of the entire party and the basis of several of the wing displays. I LOVED it! As always, everyone did an amazing job. The wing recipes were absolutely delicious and the presentations were just as awesome. You could tell that everyone worked so hard in preparing for the party

I can’t emphasis it enough how much I love this tradition! Since this year was our tenth year together, Justan and I surprised everyone with his or her own participation trophy. Just a way of saying “Thank You” for making this tradition so much fun!

As Super Bowl 52 was coming to an end so was our party. The wings had been eaten, the votes had been tallied, and the results were in. Everyone’s hard work had not been in vain. Congratulations to all of the winners!

The Stilley Family | Maternity

I absolutely love working with The Stilley Family! They are dear friends of ours and always do an amazing job during their sessions. We are inching closer and closer to the arrival of their sweet Baby Girl. I can't wait! This session was so much fun as we walked around their property, (yes, this entire session was done in their gorgeous backyard) and talked about the new little addition to their family. Sadie is very excited to be a Big Sister and Jimmy and Whitney are overjoyed with growing their family! I just love these three so much and I can't wait to meet the fourth member of The Stilley Family coming very soon!

I love each and every image from their family maternity session. The day started out raining, but as the clouds lifted it ended up being the perfect afternoon for a photo session. Here are just a few of my favorite images from that day. The next time you see The Stilley's here on the Steph Layne Photography blog you will be meeting Sadie's baby sister. I'm counting down the days! Until next time, Enjoy and Happy Tuesday!

Austin | Senior 2018

I've been looking forward to Austin's Senior Session for months. I had the wonderful privilege of photographing his older sister, Healy, a few years ago for her Senior Session. Healy was a dream to work with and so was Austin. Austin was a little shy at first, but warmed up rather quickly. He was a natural and did such an amazing job that afternoon. In preparing for his session, I knew that there were several things that he wanted to incorporate in his session. I loved this, because to me, a Senior Session is all about personalization. We included just a few of his favorite things during his session. His bike at the skatepark where he works, his adorable dog, and his classic car. With each location change I began to get more and more excited about putting this blog post together. So many awesome images of this very nice young man.

Austin, it was truly an honor to work with you and capture some special memories during this exciting time in your life. I wish you the very best in the future and I hope you have an incredible Senior Year. Without further ado, I give you just a few of my favorite images from Austin's Senior Session. Enjoy and Happy Monday!

The Bussard Family

I absolutely love working with Sarah and Steven and have been looking forward to their session from the moment that they booked it. However, this was going to be extra special because this was the first time I was meeting their son, Easton. Easton is nine months old and oh so precious. I've had the wonderful privilege of photographing Sarah and Steven for the last few years. It was fun to be able to photograph them with their son and to see how the dynamic has changed from their fall session last year. They are so sweet with Easton and you can tell how much they love and adore him. It was endearing to see them all together and to photograph them for the first time as a family of three.

Sarah, Steven and I laughed and laughed the entire session. I can't reiterate it enough how much fun we have together. We began to laugh even harder because Easton wasn't finding us as entertaining. He was a wee bit more on the serious side, but still absolutely adorable. He definitely has the "serious model" face down! Ha! Sarah joked that she just knew that as soon as they got home Easton would be laughing and showing his personality. Well, it wasn't five minutes after I left them that I received a message from her stating that "he was looking at himself in the mirror and laughing and talking". I read her message and immediately started laughing myself. Oh Easton, he is so funny and doesn't even know it yet.  I think he is saving up all his big smiles and laughs for our next session together. Ha

I'm so excited because in just a few short months we will be seeing more of Sarah, Steven, and Easton for his One Year Session. I am counting down the days already. Until then, here are just a few of my favorite images from The Bussard Family's Fall Family Session. Enjoy and Happy Tuesday!

Heidi | Newborn

Newborn Sessions are a little different than my other sessions simply for the fact that I have their due date on my calendar, but nothing is set for sure until they make their grand entrance in the world. I get more and more excited as we get closer to Mom's due date; knowing that I'm getting ready to meet this new little person that is so special to so many already. I was working in my office on Miss Heidi's due date and was thinking of Sarah (Heidi's Mom) and I was wondering how she was doing. I hadn't heard anything from Sarah yet, but I knew that today was the day they were supposed to meet their little girl. I received a message from Sarah stating there were no signs of Heidi coming that day. However, they were hoping for sometime very soon. Ha! I told her to keep me posted as the weekend progressed and we would make plans from there. Well, the weekend came and went .... as did Monday, Wednesday, and even Friday. By this time she was a week overdue and I knew that Sarah and Ariston were ready to meet their daughter. Saturday came and everything they had hoped and planned for came true! Heidi was born Saturday morning and they both agreed that she was worth the wait! Holding her for the first time was everything they had dreamed about and more. Finally their precious daughter was here!

The plans for her Newborn Session began and I was so excited to meet her. When I arrived at their home I was greeted by two parents that were overjoyed and beaming with pride. Heidi is so blessed to  have such wonderful parents and is so loved already. She did an amazing job that morning. She slept almost the entire time and was absolutely perfect. Sarah and Ariston said that she was a very mellow baby, and they were right. She was very go-with-the-flow and such a content little girl. I enjoyed my time with them so much and I'm so excited that we will be seeing even more of Heidi over the next year. I can't wait to watch this little princess grow.

For now here are just a few of my favorite images from Heidi's Newborn Session. I love each and every image so much and I know you will too. Until next time, enjoy and Happy Monday Friends!

Kase | One Year

The last time Kase was here on the Steph Layne Photography blog he was a little over a week old. It didn't seem possible as we were walking into the park that day that we it was time for his One Year Session already. I feel like the last year has gone far too quickly, so I can only imagine how Brandi and Wade must feel as they have watched their little man grow and change over the last year. Even when Kase was just a few months old, he was all smiles. I remember watching Brandi talk to him and his entire face would light up with joy. I think that his smiles have gotten bigger as he has grown up. He is just so precious. He was all smiles and giggles from the moment I said "Hello" to him the evening of his session. It was so easy to mirror his excitement that evening for sure. There are so many sweet images of Kase with his Mama and Daddy. You can tell how much he loves them both. I love the images of them where you can instantly feel the love between them. It's those little moments, the smiles, giggles, hugs, and laughter that really tug at your heartstrings. Not only viewing the images now, but also during their session when I was photographing them too.

I feel so honored to be a part of the special moments in my clients lives. My connection with Brandi and Wade goes back several years when I photographed their engagement session and wedding day in Destin, Florida. This session in itself was special because their son was turning a year old. What could make it better? The moment Brandi turns to me (with a big smile) and says, "I want to get a few shots of him wearing this shirt"! What ?! Could it be? Oh yes, Brandi and Wade are expecting baby number two at the end of this year! How exciting that Kase will be a big brother very soon! Being apart of something so special, like the announcement of their pregnancy, is so exciting and actually hard to put into words. It's a very cool feeling indeed. The images of The Knapp Family making their special announcement are definitely some of my favorite images. This is a session that we will never forget!

I'm so excited to meet the new Baby Knapp that will be arriving in just a few months. Until then, here are a few of my favorite images from Kase's One Year Session. Enjoy and Happy Wednesday!

Summer Mini Sessions

Summer Mini Sessions are something that I look forward to year after year. I know that I've said it before, but I'll say it again, summer sessions are my absolute favorite. The grass and trees are so lively and bright green, the days are longer, and I swear "golden hour" during the summer months is just a little sweeter. This years Mini Sessions were so much fun! We ended each session in a fun and unique way. There is no need to be serious during a photo session with me. I'm all about fun and seeing those big smiles on my client's faces. Those images are perfect and I love each and every one of them.

I was able to work with Austin and Hailey, the cutest little brother-sister duo. I've had the privilege of photographing Hailey since she was a newborn. I have loved watching these little ones grow over the years. They are absolutely adorable and I always have the biggest smile on my face every session I do with them. I love how much energy they have and they are so fun to work with. This years session was just the two of them, so I'm already looking forward to next year's Mini Sessions because I know that their awesome Mom and Dad will be joining us again. I can't wait!

The Langendorfer Family is a family that I hold very near and dear to my heart. My husband and I have been friends with them for years. We've had the privilege of watching Mason and Gavin grow up (far too quickly I might add). They are such an incredible family. I love their images so much. Their smiles, the little looks they give each other, their laughs .... each and every image shows so much of their beautiful personalities. I love that!

Levi and Brody did an amazing job that evening.  Levi was a little nervous leading up to the session because this was the first time he's had a professional photo session done since he was little and since his son, Brody was born. I can't fully express what a wonderful dad Levi is. He got out of the car that evening with several different outfits and said, "Does any of this look okay for our session"? I started laughing. It all looked awesome together! He did a wonderful job coordinating outfits and making sure every detail was set to go for their session. You can tell how much he adores his little boy and vice versa. So many sweet images of these two. There is so much love between this father and son and you can feel it with each and every image. It was truly an honor to do this session for Levi and Brody!

I know that summer isn't quite over yet, but I'm already looking forward to next year's Mini Sessions. Without further a do I give you just a few of my favorite images from this year's Summer Mini Session. Enjoy  and Happy Wednesday!
