The Fraser Family

The Fraser Family belongs on the cover of a magazine. They are absolutely beautiful (inside and out). One by one they got out of their truck on the evening of their session, and the smile on my face got bigger and bigger. They are just so stinkin cute! Hannah always has them dressed to perfection. She definitely takes care of her boys.

The last time I photographed The Fraser Family was last summer during the Summer Mini Sessions. Hannah was pregnant with their youngest son, Abel. I was so excited for this session for many reasons; one being that I was going to meet Abel for the first time. He is such a little cutie pie! Him and his big brother Gavin are so handsome. They are going to be heart breakers for sure.

I'm always so excited any time I get to work with The Frasers. They are easy to work with and very go-with-the-flow. I think it's safe to say that the evening of their session was the hottest day of the year. But it didn't get in the way of them knocking it out of the park. They did such an amazing job (I can't reiterate that enough)! Whether they were talking and playing with the boys or laughing just the two of them, you can tell how much Luke and Hannah love each other and their adorable boys. It's very evident how much they all mean to each other.

Nothing says summertime like playing with bubbles. Some of my favorite images are at the end of their session when Gavin and Abel are running and chasing the bubbles that their Mom and Dad are blowing. The smiles on their face say it all ... pure bliss! It was the perfect way to end their summer family session.

Photographing a beautiful family on a beautiful golf course, it doesn't get much better than that. Here are just a few of my favorite images of The Fraser Family. I'm counting down the days until their next session. Enjoy and Happy Friday!

Amanda & Randall | Maternity

I've had the privilege of knowing Randall for over ten years. He is such a nice guy and cares so much for his friends and family. He is the type of guy that will do anything for you and has such a big heart. When he started dating Amanda, it was very clear how happy she made him. He would light up every time he would talk about her. It was really sweet to see. Once I met her, I knew why he adored her so much. Amanda is a doll, and I instantly felt like I had been a friend of hers for years. They are such a charming couple and will make the most amazing parents!

I was so excited when I heard the news that Amanda and Randall were expecting their first child. I had the unique privilege of photographing their Gender Reveal in May. They gathered with their family and close friends to announce what they were going to have. To be honest, I had to fight back the tears as they announced, "It's A BOY!” I knew how excited Amanda and Randall were to be pregnant, and finding out that it's going to be a "Little R", I was overwhelmed with happiness for them. It was such a cool experience to be apart of.

These two knocked it out of the park the evening of their maternity session. It was a little warm, so ending their session in the fountains at Jordan Valley Park was perfect. I loved walking around the park with them and talking about Baby Ryder. They love him so much already.  Ryder is so blessed to have such a wonderful Mom and Dad. To see the love that Amanda and Randall share is incredible. Ryder will be the perfect addition to make them a precious family of three.

As we anxiously await the arrival of Ryder, here are just a few of my favorite images from Amanda and Randall's Summer Maternity Session. Enjoy and Happy Thursday!

Lincoln | Newborn

What a handsome little guy! Baby Lincoln was only eleven days old the day of his session and was absolutely perfect. He and Baby Leighton (I just posted her Newborn Session last week) are actually friends. Both their parents joke about Lincoln and Leighton getting married one day. You never know, maybe they will be showing these images in a slideshow at their wedding reception. Ha!

He didn't want to miss out on anything that we were doing, so he was awake at the beginning of his session. That was totally okay with me because I was able to get some sweet shots of him and his big brown eyes. He was such a beautiful newborn. He looks so much like his Mama already. Once we wrapped him up, he instantly drifted off to sleep. I love these shots because when he was wrapped up and placed in small baskets, it shows exactly how teeny-tiny he was. His Dad, Josh, had a few items he wanted to incorporate in his session. Josh is a sports fan, so he had a baseball ball and glove, a football, and a basketball. After talking with Josh for a while, I found out he used to play football. I asked if he still had his jerseys, and he smiled and said, "Yes!” The images of Lincoln lying on his daddy's jerseys are some of my favorite. We also used items from Nicole and Josh's wedding and from Lincoln's nursery. I loved this! It makes his images so personal and unique and his session even more special.

I was able to sneak in a few shots of Lincoln with his Mom and Dad and the three of them together. Melt. My. Heart. These images are so darling and I instantly fell in love them. There is something so sweet and tender about a new Mom and Dad holding their newborn child. Nicole is absolutely beautiful and the images of her and Lincoln are just that. They are nothing less than a "picture perfect family".

I hope this won't be the last time that we see Lincoln and his awesome Mom and Dad here on the Steph Layne Photography blog. Until then, here are just a few of my favorite images from Lincoln's Newborn Session. Enjoy and Happy Wednesday!

The Stilley, Lansdown, & Miller Families

For those who know me, they can tell you that I am a very family oriented person. I come from a large family and they mean the absolute world to me. So when I am asked to photograph a full family session; it's such an honor because I know how precious these images are. It's one of those sessions that doesn't come along but every few years (if not more), and the images are treasured and reminisced about forever. Every session that I have the opportunity to photograph for my client is special, but especially family sessions.

This was the case for The Stilley, Lansdown, and Miller Families. It had been several years since they had family portraits taken, and this was a special gift for Whitney and Daniel's Mom, Linda. These families will always hold a very special place in my heart. I've known Whitney and her husband, Jimmy, for almost fifteen years. It's crazy to think that it's been that long. They had just graduated high school and were starting their freshman year of college when we first met. Fast-forward a few years, and Whitney and Jimmy are married and have the most precious little girl, Sadie. I've had the privilege of doing their Maternity Session and Sadie's Newborn Session. I was so excited to not only photograph them again, but also the rest of Whitney's family. They are such wonderful people and I knew it was going to be a very fun evening.

We decided that Whitney and Jimmy's home was the perfect location for their family session. They have the most gorgeous house that backs up to the river. There aren't enough adjectives in the English language to describe how pretty their property is. From the moment you turn into their driveway, you feel like you are in a magazine. Such a beautiful place! Granted it was a wee bit warm on the evening of their session, however we were having too much fun to notice. No one ever complained though, not even little Sadie. They were all smiles the entire time. I loved how many combinations of images I was able to get that evening. I love each and every image and I feel like it really shows the dynamic of their amazing family. They were so fun and easy to work with. Moving around their property, photographing them as they laughed and joked around with each other. It was such a effortless and flawless session. It made me love them even more!

So without further ado, I give you just a few of my favorite images from The Stilley, Lansdown, and Miller Families Summer Session. Enjoy and Happy Tuesday!

The Geneson Family

From the moment I waved “Hello” to The Geneson Family I knew it was going to be a fun evening. Danielle definitely takes good care of her family, because they were dressed to perfection. As I greeted Danielle and Chauncey, I caught a little glimpse of their precious daughter Lotus. Immediately, the biggest smile appeared on my face. Talk about a cutie-pie, Lotus is the most charming little girl. She was a little shy at first, but once we started their session her adorable personality started coming out.

They had brought a few items with them to personalize their session, and I always when my clients do this! It made their images so unique and special. As we got a game plan where we wanted to start their session; I noticed that Chauncey had brought his guitar with him. As we started to walk, he began to play. I can't tell you how cool this was. It instantly set the mood for their session, which was fun, mellow, and relaxing. I loved how he would play as I was photographing Danielle and Lotus and even the three of them together. The ambiance of The Geneson Family Session was pure perfection!

I really enjoyed walking and talking with them. I loved the silly things that Lotus would say and her Mom and Dad would burst into laughter. You can tell how much they love their little princess. I was able to photograph them as a family and individually with Lotus. There are so many sweet images of them just talking and interacting with her that are so tender and pure. They love her so much and you can also see how much she adores her Mom and Dad. As a photographer it's such a cool experience when you can tell that, for a few moments your client isn't paying attention to the fact the are being photographed, rather they are enjoying being with the ones they love the most. Those moments and those images are my favorite. It just reminds me how grateful I am to be able to do what I love the most. I'm able to create images for my clients that will last a lifetime!

I hope that this won't be the only time you see the incredible Geneson Family on the Steph Layne Photography blog. They were so awesome to work with and I know you will enjoy their images as much as I do. Here are just a few of my favorite images from their summer family session. Enjoy and Happy Monday!

Leighton | Newborn

I was so excited when I got the call that Baby Leighton had finally arrived. I had been anxiously awaiting her arrival for several months. I've had the privilege of photographing The House Family for several years, and Leighton was the perfect little addition to make them the most adorable family of five!

I arrived at her session so excited and ready to meet her, and she was absolutely perfect! It's funny how much she already looked like her big brother Jude and she was only two weeks old. At the beginning of her session, she was wide-awake, which was so sweet because I was able to get some great shots of her looking at the camera with her beautiful blue eyes. Once she got a little sleepy, I wrapped her up (snug as a bug) and she drifted away into a sweet slumber. Some of my favorite images of Leighton are when she is asleep and a little smile appears on her face. I jokingly told Jenna (Leighton's Mom) that I thought when she smiled like that, it was her way of telling me she was having a lot of fun during her Newborn Session.

Later in the afternoon The House Boys arrived and it was no longer just us three girls. It was time for Ed (Leighton's Dad) and her two brothers (Jacob and Jude) to step in for a few shots. Wouldn't you know that it was a beautiful sunny afternoon while we were inside and a few minutes before we headed outside, it started to rain. Mother Nature has a way of always keeping me on my toes like that. Ha! One of the many things I love about Jenna and Ed is how easy going and go-with-the-flow they are. They just laughed when we looked outside and the rain turned into a downpour. Another thing I love about The House Family is they always look beautiful no matter when or where they are photographed. A little rain wasn't going to ruin my plans. We did their family portraits in the middle of their living room and it was perfect. Those images are so special and personal. I loved photographing the boys as they held their baby sister and smiled down oh so sweetly at her. I especially love the images of Jenna and Ed holding Leighton. You can feel the love the moment you see each of those images. Such a precious moment in time and I feel so honored to have been able to capture that for them.

The day of Leighton's Newborn Session was extra special because it was Jenna and Ed's Six Year Wedding Anniversary. I think it's safe to say that Leighton is the best anniversary gift they received! I was able to get a few shots of Leighton laying on Jenna's wedding dress. Talk about a special moment! I know that Jenna is so excited to share those images with Leighton as she grows up.

Not only do I absolutely adore Baby Leighton, but the entire House Family! I'm so excited to watch her grow over the next year and to be able to share so many charming images of her with you all. Here are just a few of my favorite images from Leighton's Newborn Session. Enjoy and Happy Wednesday!

Spring Mini Sessions

Last year was the first year I offered Mini Sessions to my clients. I had so much fun with everyone that I decided to do it again this year. The weather was perfect, the trees and flowers in the park were in full bloom, and the laughs were non-stop! I had the privilege of photographing five amazing families. The Garnsey Family, The White Family, The Vaughn Family, The Cole Family, and Brandi and Wade’s Maternity Session.

I feel extremely blessed to have the most wonderful clients in the world. I’ve had the pleasure of working with each of these families before, so that made this year’s Mini Sessions even more exciting. My time with each family went far too quickly!

It was truly an honor to photograph each and every family. I love capturing the love between a Mom and Dad, while their little ones stand behind me making them laugh. I love watching the siblings interact with each other and the way they would try to suppress their little giggles when they were trying to be serious. Most importantly I love photographing the entire family together. You can just feel the love between each and every family. That is one of my favorite things about being a photographer; knowing that you are capturing little moments in time that they will be able to enjoy forever.

I'm so appreciative to be able to photograph Brandi and Wade for their Maternity Session. This is such an exciting time in their lives. Brandi is absolutely beautiful with her tiny little baby bump. This will be the last time that I photograph them as a family of two. The next time you see them, they will be holding their sweet newborn son, Kase.

Here are just a few of my favorite images from this year’s Spring Mini Sessions. Enjoy and Happy Wednesday!

Mabel | Newborn

From the moment I met Mabel she instantly melted my heart. She is the smallest newborn I’ve had the privilege of photographing, weighing in at just a little over five pounds. She was so teeny-tiny and so precious. She was absolutely perfect during her session. She slept almost the entire time and the brief moments when she was awake, she would sit quietly and look around, then slowly drift back to sleep. I can’t reiterate enough how perfect she was!

I knew where Mabel got all of her sweetness from as soon as I met her Mom, Michelle, and her Dad, Travis. They were such a fun couple to work with. They were just as mellow and go-with-the-flow as Mabel was. I had so much fun chatting with them while we moved Mabel around from basket to basket and changed out hair bowes and wraps. They are such an adorable little family indeed!

It was a beautiful spring afternoon on the day of Mabel’s Newborn Session, so we were able to step outside for a few minutes and I was able to photograph them for their first family portrait.  These images are my favorite. Not only do we have Mabel, Michelle and Travis, but also Scotch, their Airedale Terrier dog. I believe that it’s not an official family portrait until the fur babies are in it too. Ha! You can tell how much Michelle and Travis love and adore their sweet baby girl in these images. Within seconds you can feel the love. They are very proud parents indeed. I love, not only they way they look at her, but they way they look at each other. There is a lot of love in this family and it’s very evident! It was truly an honor to capture these treasured moments for this incredible family!

I hope we will be seeing even more of Mabel in future, but until then here are just a few of my favorite images from her Newborn Session! I know you will enjoy them as much as I do. Enjoy and Happy Thursday!
