Summer Mini Sessions

Summer Mini Sessions are something that I look forward to year after year. I know that I've said it before, but I'll say it again, summer sessions are my absolute favorite. The grass and trees are so lively and bright green, the days are longer, and I swear "golden hour" during the summer months is just a little sweeter. This years Mini Sessions were so much fun! We ended each session in a fun and unique way. There is no need to be serious during a photo session with me. I'm all about fun and seeing those big smiles on my client's faces. Those images are perfect and I love each and every one of them.

I was able to work with Austin and Hailey, the cutest little brother-sister duo. I've had the privilege of photographing Hailey since she was a newborn. I have loved watching these little ones grow over the years. They are absolutely adorable and I always have the biggest smile on my face every session I do with them. I love how much energy they have and they are so fun to work with. This years session was just the two of them, so I'm already looking forward to next year's Mini Sessions because I know that their awesome Mom and Dad will be joining us again. I can't wait!

The Langendorfer Family is a family that I hold very near and dear to my heart. My husband and I have been friends with them for years. We've had the privilege of watching Mason and Gavin grow up (far too quickly I might add). They are such an incredible family. I love their images so much. Their smiles, the little looks they give each other, their laughs .... each and every image shows so much of their beautiful personalities. I love that!

Levi and Brody did an amazing job that evening.  Levi was a little nervous leading up to the session because this was the first time he's had a professional photo session done since he was little and since his son, Brody was born. I can't fully express what a wonderful dad Levi is. He got out of the car that evening with several different outfits and said, "Does any of this look okay for our session"? I started laughing. It all looked awesome together! He did a wonderful job coordinating outfits and making sure every detail was set to go for their session. You can tell how much he adores his little boy and vice versa. So many sweet images of these two. There is so much love between this father and son and you can feel it with each and every image. It was truly an honor to do this session for Levi and Brody!

I know that summer isn't quite over yet, but I'm already looking forward to next year's Mini Sessions. Without further a do I give you just a few of my favorite images from this year's Summer Mini Session. Enjoy  and Happy Wednesday!

Truman | Newborn

It was during The Sunderman's Fall Family Session that they announced they were expecting a new little one that will be arriving this summer. From that moment forward, I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of their sweet baby boy. I was so excited when I received the news that Baby Truman was here and doing good. The plans for his newborn session were in full swing. It was a beautiful summer morning when I arrived to Brandi and Austin's home for their session. I was greeted with the biggest smiles from all of them. Brandi and Austin were so proud of their precious baby boy. Someone else who was very excited to show off  Truman was his big sister, Reagan. Oh my goodness, there are not enough adjectives to describe how adorable Miss Reagan is. She has the sweetest little smile and the most ringlets of anyone I've ever met. She is seriously too cute for words. I love how much you can already see the resemblance between Reagan and Truman. From the first time I saw Truman my exact thought was, "He looks so much like his little sister"! The are such an adorable family.

I am beyond excited that we will be able to watch Truman grow over the next year. This means we will be seeing even more of the incredible Sunderman Family here on the Steph Layne Photography blog. Yay! For now, here are just a few of my favorites from Truman's Newborn Session. Until next time, enjoy and Happy Friday!

Lincoln | One Year

I can't believe that a year has passed since I first met sweet little Lincoln. Our last session together he was only a few days old, so it's crazy to think his first birthday has come and gone. From the moment I met him, I couldn't get over his sweet eyes. He has the biggest and most beautiful dark brown eyes. I think it's safe to say we have a future heartbreaker on our hands here.

As I met with Lincoln and his adorable Mom and Dad that evening, we started to get a game plan on where we wanted to go within the park. It was then that Nicole turned to me and said, "We also brought this shirt for him to change into later on." I smiled the biggest smile and said, "Aw! Congratulations! That is so exciting!" Lincoln is going to be a big brother! Such an exciting time indeed. Lincoln will be getting a new brother or sister at the end of the year. I can tell you right now they are going to be the most beautiful picture perfect foursome. I can't wait to meet the new little addition to this precious family.

Until then here are just a few of my favorite images from Lincoln's One Year session. Enjoy and Happy Monday!

The Geneson Family

The Geneson Family has a tradition of doing a summer family photo session, and I'm so honored to be apart of that tradition. Danielle, Chauncey, and Lotus are the most adorable little family and are so easy to work with. I loved putting this blog post together and re-living their family session. There are so many sweet moments between them that I absolutely love. You can tell how much Danielle and Chauncey adore their little girl, and Lotus feels the same way about her incredible Mom and Dad. I can't emphasize enough how much I love working with them!

Nothing goes better with a summer session than bubbles. I brought along a little bubble maker for Lotus and those images are absolutely precious. One hundred percent pure joy is the look on her face in those images. I couldn't help but smile and laugh with her as she chased around the bubbles that evening. She really is too cute for words!

Without ado I give you just a few of my favorite images from this years Geneson Family Session. Counting down the days until next summer and we get to do it all over again. Yay! Until then enjoy and Happy Friday!

Leighton | One Year

I always count down the days to each and every session that I get to do with Leighton and her amazing family. I've loved watching this little blue-eyed princess grow over the last year. She is such a happy girl and so expressive too. Leighton and her entire family are always so easy to work with. I have so much fun with them all and I'm always a little sad when the sun starts to set because I know that our time together is coming to an end. I think Jenna and I would be on board with an "all day photo session", but I bet that the guys wouldn't be as excited as we would be about that. Ha  As always, everyone did an amazing job that evening. Ed (Leighton's Dad) patiently held bags, outfit changes, and a balloon as we moved around the park during her session. Leighton's brothers, Jacob and Jude, helped in getting their little sister to laugh and giggle (you can tell she loves her brothers very much). As always Jenna was flawless in getting the perfect outfits and accessories together for this session to make it absolutely perfect. I can't say it enough ... I just adore this family and their sessions are always so much fun!

I'm already excited for our next session together! For now, here are just a few of my favorite images from Leighton's One Year Session. Enjoy and Happy Monday!

Mabel | One Year

Oh Mabel! She has a way of making everyone around her smile the biggest smiles. What a sweetheart! I still can't believe how fast time is going and that Mabel's One Year session has came and gone. As always, she and her amazing Mom and Dad were a dream to work with. Michelle and Travis are the sweetest couple and they are such wonderful parents to their baby girl. You can tell how much Mable adores them. She smiles and giggles whenever they talk to her. It's really sweet to see!

If I could describe their blog post in one word it would be, JOY! There is so much joy and happiness in each and every image. There is no way you can scroll through their images and not have the biggest smile on your face. I LOVE that! I hope you enjoy Mabel's One Year session images as much as I do. Michelle and Travis, I can't wait for our next session together! Until next time, enjoy and Happy Friday!

Lauren & Colin

Words cannot express how much Lauren, Colin, and their parents, Jared and Nikki mean to me. We are not related, but my husband and I definitely view them as family. Lauren and Colin are my honorary Niece and Nephew. Ha! Jared wasn’t able to make it to their session that day, but Nikki jumped in for a few shots and I was able to capture the sweetest images with her and the kids.  Every time I look at these images my smile gets bigger and bigger. I love their smiles and laughs in each and every image. They all did an amazing job that evening. This was the first time they had ever had portraits taken, and I was truly honored to do this session for them.

This blog post was so easy to put together because I love each and every image from their session. This will not be the last time we see these beautiful faces here on the Steph Layne Photography blog and I’m very excited about that. Looking forward to their next session already. Until then, here are a few of my favorite images of Lauren, Colin, and Nikki. Enjoy and Happy Wednesday!

Isabel | Senior 2017

Isabel has the most contagious smile and giggle! I don’t think she stopped doing either one the entire time we were together. She was so sweet and a dream to work with. I love when my clients choose a downtown setting for their Senior Session. It’s such a relaxed setting because I get to walk around with them for a few hours, talking about their senior year, what their plans for the future are, etc. The time goes so quickly because we are chatting while getting some great candid shots. I can’t reiterate it enough how much I enjoy my Senior Sessions.

I always encourage my clients to bring along items with them that they would love to be photographed with. For Isabel, it was her two dogs. Being a huge animal lover, I’m always on board with clients wanting to bring their dogs along. Isabel has the sweetest pups. The images of the three of them are definitely at the top of my favorite list.

Isabel I wish you the very best as you are getting ready for you graduation day. This is such an exciting time indeed! I hope you had an incredible Senior Year and I can’t wait to see what wonderful things that are in store for you in the future.

Here are just a few of my favorite images from Isabel’s Senior Session. Enjoy and Happy Monday!
